No person shall at any time hunt for, take, kill or pursue, with a gun or any firearm of any kind or character or with bow and arrow, a bird, animal, fish or fowl within the territorial limits of the Borough of Runnemede.

Any person who shall violate any provision of this article shall be subject to the penalty as provided in § 1-15, General penalty, of this Code.

The discharge of any firearms, bow and arrow, crossbow, slingshot, air gun, spring gun, gas gun or any other device which impels a projectile through the use of force is prohibited in the Borough of Runnemede.
The provisions of this article shall not apply to:
A. 
Any duly appointed law officer in the course of his or her official duty.
B. 
The use of firearms when necessary for the preservation of human life.
C. 
The use of firearms when hunting in conformity with the applicable laws and regulations of the State of New Jersey.
D. 
Use of a firearm on a licensed pistol, rifle or firearm range and under the supervision of the Police Department.
Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall, upon conviction, be subject to the penalty as provided in § 1-15, General penalty, of this Code.
