Pursuant to the provisions of §§ 4-124i
through 4-124p of the Connecticut General Statutes, providing for
the formation of a Regional Council of Governments, the Town joins
the Western Regional Council of Governments to be formed by the joining
of the Southwestern Regional Planning Agency and the Housatonic Valley
Council of Elected Officials as defined or redefined by the Secretary
of the Office of Policy and Management or designee and upon certification
by the Secretary or designee that a Regional Council of Governments
has been duly established.
A.
The First Selectman shall represent the Town on the
Regional Council of Governments. In addition, the Board of Selectmen
shall appoint an alternate member to the Regional Council of Governments.
An alternate shall serve for a term of two years or such other period
as determined by the Board of Selectmen.
B.
Alternates under this section shall continue to serve
after expiration of their terms until their successors are appointed
and take office. Alternates may be reappointed for successive terms.
Terms of office of initial appointees shall commence upon establishment
of said Regional Council of Governments.
