There is hereby created the Department of Senior
Citizen Recreation.
The Mayor, with the consent of the Township
Committee, shall appoint a Senior Citizen Coordinator to serve for
a term of two years, who shall head the Department of Senior Citizen
Recreation.
A.
The Senior Citizen Coordinator shall provide assistance
in planning, scheduling, developing and furthering the recreational
programs and events for the senior citizens of the Township of Mansfield.
B.
The Senior Citizen Coordinator shall interface with
the Mansfield Township Seniors Organization; like or similar organization
which may from time to time be established and the Office on Aging
of the County of Warren in the development of the recreation program
for senior citizens in the Township of Mansfield.
The Department shall annually recommend to the
Township Committee such programs, activities or events it shall deemed
appropriate to be sponsored by the Township of Mansfield for its senior
citizens.
As used in this chapter, the following terms
shall have the meaning indicated:
Shall consist of any person residing in the Township of Mansfield
over the age of 60 years and any member of the Mansfield Township
Senior Organization, whether residing in or out of the Township of
Mansfield.
The Township Committee may from time to time
appropriate such amounts as are deemed necessary to carry out the
functions of the Department.
