Editor's Note: This local law passed at referendum 11-5-1985.
The term of office of any Highway Superintendent
elected after the effective date of this article shall be four years.
There shall be submitted to the electors of
the Town of Bergen a proposition at the general election of 1985 for
the purpose of approving this article as required by § 24-a
of the Town Law. At such election, the following shall appear on the
ballot:

Proposition #1 — Shall a Local Law of
the Town Board extending the term of office of Highway Superintendent
to four years, effective November 1, 1987, be approved?

If a majority of the votes cast upon the above
proposition shall be in the affirmative, this article shall take effect
November 1, 1987.
