As used in this article, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
BICYCLE TRAIL
The following portions of the Rails to Historic Trails system constructed by the Town of Cheektowaga:
A. 
The portion of the trail which begins on the east side of Union Road in front of 3035 Union Road and terminates at the northerly terminus of Strawn Avenue in the Village of Sloan.
B. 
The portion of the trail which begins on the south side of William Street and terminates at the westerly terminus of Hurd Street at Medina Street.
A. 
The bicycle trail shall be closed between the hours of sunset and sunrise the following morning, and no person shall remain on the bicycle trail during the hours when so closed.
B. 
The bicycle trail will not be maintained (i.e. snow and ice removal) during the winter months (generally from December 1 to March 31 in any given year).
All motorized vehicles, except wheelchairs, emergency vehicles and Town-owned vehicles, shall be prohibited on the bicycle trail.
Every person operating a bicycle, skateboard, rollerblades and all other means of travel/conveyance shall not operate same at a speed in excess of 15 miles per hour on the bicycle trail.
A. 
Dogs shall be permitted on the bicycle trail provided they are restrained/hand-controlled by leash (no longer than six feet in length).
B. 
No person walking or in charge of any dog on the bicycle trail shall cause, suffer or allow such dog to soil, defecate on or commit any nuisance on the bicycle trail, unless said person picks up and properly disposes of the feces in an appropriate container.
The consumption of alcoholic beverages and the carrying of glass containers on the bicycle trail shall be prohibited.
The provisions of this article shall be enforced by the members of the Cheektowaga Police Department.
Any violation of the provisions of this article shall be deemed to be an offense, and any person found guilty of such violation shall be liable for a fine of not less than $50 nor more than $500, and/or by imprisonment for not more than 15 days.
