The words and phrases defined in N.J.S.A. 39:1-1,
as amended, shall govern the meaning of said words and phrases used
in this chapter.
Unless another penalty is expressly provided
by New Jersey statute, any person who violates any provision of this
chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be punished by a fine not
exceeding $50 or by imprisonment for a term not exceeding 15 days,
or both.
The provisions of this chapter imposing a time
limit on parking shall not relieve any person of the duty to observe
other and more restrictive provisions prohibiting or limiting the
stopping, standing or parking of vehicles as set forth in N.J.S.A.
39:4-138 or any other New Jersey statute as hereinafter provided.
