GENERAL REFERENCES
Sanitation — See Ch. 201.
As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
PUBLIC PLACE OR PUBLIC PLACES
Includes but is not limited to sidewalks, gutters, streets or other public places within the Township of East Hanover.
No person shall:
A. 
Throw or permit to be thrown any rubbish, refuse, waste, garbage, ashes, paper or other materials into or upon any public place, except in public receptacles or in authorized private receptacles for collection.
B. 
Strew or cause to be strewn about any newspaper, paper, periodical, book, magazine, circular, card or pamphlet in or upon any public place.
C. 
Throw, place or deposit any glass, wire, tin cans, tacks or other sharp, injurious or cutting substance in or upon any public place.
D. 
Throw or drop any bundle, object, article or debris of any nature from a vehicle, whether in motion or not, when such vehicle is on any public place.
E. 
Drive or move any truck or other vehicle within the township unless such vehicle shall be so constructed or loaded or covered as to prevent any load, contents or litter from falling or being deposited upon any public place.
F. 
Drive or move any truck or other vehicle within the Township of East Hanover whose wheels or tires shall carry onto or deposit in any public place any mud, dirt, sticky substance, litter or foreign matter of any kind.
No provision of this chapter shall be deemed to apply to any person duly authorized by state or municipal ordinance or municipal authority to do any of the acts prohibited by this chapter, or to any person who places sand, ashes or salt upon ice which has formed on any public place.
Any person who shall violate any of the provisions of this chapter shall, upon conviction, be subject to the penalties provided in § 164-14 of Chapter 164, General Provisions, Board of Health.
