This chapter has been established to provide a synopsis of legislation relating to agreements entered into by the Township.
Bethlehem Pike Waterline. Ordinance 106, passed February 16, 1971, approved a contract between the North Wales Water Authority and the Township, authorizing the Authority to construct a waterline along a section of the Bethlehem Pike, authorizing the execution of the contract by the Board of Supervisors, approving the plan with specifications and a cost estimate of the waterline, creating a water district covering such area and signifying the intention of the Township to assess all properties abutting on the waterline and main to be installed pursuant to the authority of the ordinance.
Police Protection During Emergencies. An unnumbered resolution passed June 23, 1980, provided for the participation by the Township in an intergovernmental agreement, in accordance with the Joint Municipal Activity Act of 1972, July 12, No. 18087, to receive and supply police protection, in conformity with the guidelines set forth in the Montgomery County Mutual Aid Plan, during emergency situations involving civil disobedience and/or natural disasters.
Evans Road Waterline. Ordinance 180, passed September 16, 1980, approved a contract between the North Wales Water Authority and the Township, authorizing the Authority to construct a waterline along a section of Evans Road between Welsh and Meetinghouse Roads and along that section of Meetinghouse Road which is southeast of Evans Road in the Township, authorizing the execution of the contract by the Board of Supervisors, approving the plan with specifications and a cost estimate of the waterline, creating a water district covering such area and signifying the intention of the Township to assess all properties abutting on the waterline and main to be installed pursuant to the authority of the ordinance.
Pennsylvania Local Government Investment Trust. Ordinance 189, passed October 20, 1981, authorized the Township to join with other local governmental units as a settlor of the Pennsylvania Local Government Investment Trust.
Montgomery County Consortium of Communities. Ordinance 190, passed October 20, 1981, endorsed articles of agreement of the Montgomery County Consortium of Communities and authorized the execution of the agreement and the participation in Consortium affairs by the appropriate officials of the Township.
CLEAN Computer System. Resolution 87-37, passed September 22, 1987, authorized the execution of an agreement for Township participation in the CLEAN Computer System, part of a twenty-four-hour dispatch center.
Delaware Valley Municipal Liability Self-Insurance Trust. Ordinance 258, passed July 19, 1988, authorized Township participation in the Delaware Valley Municipal Liability Self-Insurance Trust for the purpose of pooling liability risks with other municipalities in accordance with the Pennsylvania Political Subdivision Tort Claims Act and the Pennsylvania Intergovernmental Cooperation Law.
Delaware Valley Workers' Compensation Trust. Ordinance 286, passed June 18, 1991, authorized Township participation in the Delaware Valley Workers' Compensation Trust in accordance with the Pennsylvania Intergovernmental Cooperation Law and the Pennsylvania Political Subdivision Tort Claims Act.
Delaware Valley Workers' Compensation Trust. Ordinance 305, passed November 15, 1993, authorized Township participation in the Delaware Valley Workers' Compensation Trust in accordance with the Pennsylvania Workers' Compensation Act and the Pennsylvania Intergovernmental Cooperation Law.
Mutual Utility Alliance. Ordinance 352, passed 7-27-1998, provided for an intergovernmental cooperation agreement appointing the Mutual Utility Alliance as the consultant of the Township for the purpose of bidding and purchasing certain service and products.
Hiring of Recreation Director. Ordinance 354, passed 10-13-1998, authorized an agreement for the joint hiring of a Recreation Director for Lower Gwynedd and Montgomery Townships.
Purchase of real estate for park. Ordinance 355, passed 11-9-1998, authorized an agreement for the joint purchase of real estate to be utilized as a joint park by Lower Gwynedd Township and the Borough of Ambler.
Participation in INVEST Program. Ordinance 373, passed 6-26-2000, authorized an intergovernmental cooperation agreement and the investment of certain funds in the Pennsylvania Treasurer's INVEST Program for Local Governments.
Live Scan Processing Center. Ordinance 410, passed 7-22-2003, authorized an intergovernmental agreement between Lower Gwynedd Township, Towamencin Township and other neighboring municipalities pertaining to the Live Scan Processing Center.
Delaware Valley Health Insurance Trust. Ordinance 440, passed 3-21-2006, authorized participation in the Delaware Valley Health Insurance Trust pursuant to the Pennsylvania Intergovernmental Cooperation Law.
Intergovernmental agreement regarding Wissahickon Creek Watershed. Ordinance 506, passed 8-23-2016, approved an Intergovernmental Agreement for Development of a Plan for an Alternative TMDL for the Wissahickon Creek Watershed.
