This article shall be known and may be cited as the "Dog Ordinance
of Schuylkill Township."
A.Â
It shall be unlawful for the owner, custodian or keeper of any dog
to suffer or permit such dog to run at large within the Township of
Schuylkill, either upon any of the streets, roads, alleys or public
grounds of the Township of Schuylkill, or upon the property or lands
of another person other than the owner, custodian or keeper of such
dog, unless such dog shall be accompanied by and under the immediate
control of such owner, custodian or keeper in accordance with 3 P.S.
§ 459-302.

B.Â
It shall be unlawful for the owner, custodian or keeper of any dog
to suffer or permit such dog to jump upon or attack any human being,
or to damage any property, real or personal, including but not limited
to damage resulting from the deposit by such dog of urine or excrement
upon bushes, shrubs, trees, flowers or any other form of vegetation.

Any person who shall violate any of the provisions of this article
may, upon conviction thereof in summary proceedings before a Magisterial
District Judge, be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than $600 and
the costs of prosecution, and in default of the payment thereof, to
imprisonment in the county jail for a period not exceeding 10 days.
