An annual license fee of $50 is hereby levied on each motor
bus and motor omnibus transporting as a common carrier on designated
or scheduled routes passengers for pay or hire within the limits of
the City, or from points within the City to any suburb thereof within
a radius of 10 miles.
Application for registration of each motor bus and motor omnibus
regulated by the provisions of this chapter shall be made by the individual,
association, partnership, authority or corporation operating the same
to the Tax Enforcement Administrator, who shall thereupon, after payment
of the required license fee to the City Treasurer, register such vehicle
for the license tax year beginning January 1 of each year, or portion
thereof as provided in this chapter, and issue to the applicant a
license card evidencing each such registration.
The license shall at all times be displayed in a conspicuous
place in each motor bus and motor omnibus required to be licensed
when the vehicle is transporting passengers and shall be presented
for inspection at any time to and on request of any police officer
of the City.
Any person who violates the provisions of this chapter shall be subject to the general code penalty, § 1-301.99 of these Codified Ordinances.
