All lots facing on streets running in an easterly direction from Broadway shall be designated by continuous numbers, beginning with number one at Broadway, excepting Irvington Street, on which the numbers shall run easterly from Washington Avenue.

All lots facing on streets running in a westerly direction from Broadway shall be designated by continuous numbers, beginning with number one at Broadway.
Even numbers shall be on the northerly and westerly sides of the streets and the odd numbers shall be on the southerly and easterly sides of the streets.
Every building along the streets of the Borough shall have a number displayed thereon, at least three inches in height. Said number shall be placed at the entrance of each building.
The number or numbers applicable to said building shall be ascertained by the owner, occupant, tenant or agent thereof from a map on file with the Borough Clerk in the Borough Clerk's office or from the person designated by the Council for that purpose.
Said number or numbers shall be ascertained and placed upon the building, as hereinbefore provided, not later than 30 days after being notified by the Borough to do so.

In the event of the failure of the owner, occupant, tenant or agent to ascertain and affix upon the building or buildings the number applicable to said building or buildings within 30 days after being notified by the Borough, it shall be lawful for the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Westwood to have affixed to said building or buildings, upon which no number shall have been affixed, the number applicable to said building or buildings and to make a return of the cost of the same to the Collector of the Borough, who shall charge the same to the owner of the building or buildings and collect the same with the taxes that shall accrue upon said lot or lots upon which the building or buildings are situated, and the said cost shall be a lien upon said land.

Violations of this chapter shall be punishable as provided in Chapter 1, General Provisions, Article III, General Penalty, of the Code of the Borough of Westwood.
