All ordinances and resolutions heretofore adopted by the City
Council and in force and effect on the effective date of this chapter,
including all provisions of the Revised General Ordinances of the
City of Englewood (1978) shall remain in full force and effect, except
to the extent that any portion of any of the same shall be inconsistent
with the provisions of this chapter or the provisions of the City
Charter, and in the event of any such inconsistency, any such inconsistent
provision shall be deemed amended so as to render the same consistent
with this chapter and the City Charter. All references in any prior
ordinance or resolution, including the Revised General Ordinances,
to any board, body, department, office or employee, shall be construed
so as to apply to such board, body, department, office or employee
to which the respective functions, powers and duties allocated by
any such prior ordinance or resolution are now allocated and assigned
by this chapter.
All persons employed by the City as of the effective date of
this chapter, or holding any office or position within the City government
as of the effective date of this chapter, shall continue to hold such
employment, office or position on the same terms and conditions, including
the same salary, as were in effect as of the `date of this chapter,
except that any such person whose functions and duties shall have
been transferred to some other department or office by virtue of this
chapter shall be deemed to have been transferred by this chapter to
such other department or office, and no person, by virtue of this
chapter, shall be adversely affected in any way with respect to seniority,
pension, promotion or salary rights and benefits.
