The Englewood Public Library, as heretofore created, is hereby continued.
A. 
The Board of Trustees shall consist of nine members, one of whom shall be the Mayor, one of whom shall be the Superintendent of Schools of the City of Englewood, and seven citizens to be appointed by the Mayor, at least four of whom shall be residents of the City of Englewood.
B. 
The terms of the appointed members shall be five years.
C. 
The Mayor and the Superintendent of Schools may, respectively, appoint an alternative in his place or stead with authority to attend meetings of the Board and, in his absence, to vote on all questions before the Board.
The Board of Trustees of the Englewood Public Library shall have such duties and authorities as may be prescribed by N.J.S.A 40:54-1 et seq. or as otherwise provided by law.
