Required. All private sewage systems within the limits of Stephenson
County shall be installed or modified by an individual with a valid
private sewage system installation contractor's license; and
all such systems shall be pumped and cleaned, and the contents disposed
of by individuals with a valid private sewage system pumping contractor's
license. A person who owns and occupies a single-family dwelling and
who constructs, installs, maintains, services or cleans the private
sewage disposal system which serves his single-family residence shall
not be required to be licensed under this Act; however, such person
shall comply with all other provisions of this chapter and the private
sewage disposal code promulgated hereunder by the Department.

Licenses issued by Health Department. The Health Department shall
issue a private sewage system installation contractor's license or
a private sewage system pumping contractor's license to persons applying
for such license who pass the written examination given by the state
for the license desired.
C.Â
Expiration. All licenses shall expire on June 30 of each year. Licenses
issued after June 1 shall not expire until June 30 of the following
year.

Fees for
contractors' licenses shall be set from time to time by the County
Board.
