The term of office of Mayor and of all the Trustees of the Village of Fort Plain shall hereafter be four years.
The Village elections for the election of the Mayor and all the Trustees shall hereafter be held biennially on the third Tuesday in March in odd-numbered years.
Notwithstanding the provisions of § 44-2 hereof, an election shall be held on the third Tuesday in March, 2010, for the election of those Village Trustees regularly elected at the Village election in 2010. The officials elected at such election shall serve a single term of three years, commencing upon the expiration of the terms of the incumbents of the respective offices. The successors to the Trustees and the Mayor whose terms expire in April 2011 will serve a four-year term.
The successors of such Trustees and the Mayor so elected pursuant to §§ 44-2 and 44-3 thereafter shall be elected for terms of four official years.
