A.
Words and phrases, when used in this Traffic Code, except for sections
or articles to which different or additional definitions apply, shall
have the meanings ascribed to them in the Vehicle Code (the Act of
June 17, 1976, P.L. 162, No. 81),[1] as amended, except that, in this Traffic Code, the word
"street" may be used interchangeably with the word "highway" and shall
have the same meaning as the word "highway" as defined in the Vehicle
Code.

B.
In this Traffic Code, the singular shall include the plural, the
plural shall include the singular, and the masculine shall include
the feminine.
Any person convicted of a summary offense for violation of this
Traffic Code shall, in addition to the fine imposed, pay the costs
of the issuing authority as provided in Section 6306 of the Commonwealth
Vehicle Code.

Unless another penalty is specifically provided by the Vehicle
Code (75 Pa.C.S.A. § 101 et seq.), or except as herein specified,
every person convicted of a violation of a provision of this article,
or any supplement thereto, shall be liable to a penalty of $25 and
costs of prosecution.
