It shall be unlawful for any person to drive any motor vehicle
or other vehicle, trailer or tractor-trailer combination having a
gross weight in excess of five tons upon McLean Street, Ridge Street,
Davidson Drive or Valley Drive, where such streets have been posted
with notice of said maximum weight.
A.
It shall be unlawful for any person to drive any motor vehicle or other vehicle, trailer or tractor-trailer combination having a gross weight in excess of 71/2 tons upon any street, highway or alley within the Rochester Township limits except for the portions of roadways or streets set forth in Subsection B below or in § 154-10 by special permit. Said limits shall be in effect where said streets or portions thereof have been posted with a notice of said maximum weight.
B.
Vehicles or combinations having a gross weight in excess of 71/2
tons shall not be permitted upon the following portions of the streets
and highways within Rochester Township without the necessity of a
permit:

The aforesaid weight limits set forth in §§ 154-8 and 154-9 above shall not apply to any motor vehicle or any vehicle, trailer or tractor-trailer combination making deliveries or picking up goods, wares, materials or merchandise from any property located upon said restricted zone or any other motor vehicle or other vehicle, trailer or tractor-trailer combination for which a special permit to operate in said restricted zone shall have been issued by the Chief of Police in accordance with regulations approved by the Rochester Township Board of Commissioners. Said regulations shall authorize the setting of a bond by the Township Engineer to cover the cost of repairs necessitated by the issuance of a special permit.
The provisions of this article shall not apply to the driving
of vehicles, hauling of food or household goods, public utility vehicles,
fire-fighting equipment, garbage and rummage vehicles or school and
public transportation vehicles.
Any person who shall violate any provision of this article shall,
upon conviction thereof, be sentenced to pay a fine of $150, plus
$150 for each 500 pounds or portion thereof in excess of 3,000 pounds
over the maximum allowable weight limit, plus the costs of prosecution.
