[HISTORY: Adopted by the City Council of the City of West Haven 7-26-1965 by Ord. No. 45. Section 36-1 amended at time of adoption of Code; see Ch. 1, General Provisions, Art. I. Other amendments noted where applicable.]
Effective with the municipal fiscal year commencing July 1, 1965, of the amounts appropriated by the City of West Haven for salaries of the members of the West Haven Police Department, the sum of $5 per day for each working day shall be designated as and shall constitute a statutory subsistence allowance. The purpose of this section is to give the members of the West Haven Police Department the tax benefits provided for by the Internal Revenue Code.

Nothing contained herein shall be deemed to alter or amend any of the provisions of the pension rights of the members of the West Haven Police Department as set forth in the City Charter.
