The Township of Robinson, pursuant to the First Class Township Code, as amended, Act of 1969, December 17, P.L. 378, § 1, shall have the audit of its accounts done by an independent auditor who may be a certified public accountant registered in Pennsylvania, a firm of certified public accountants so registered, or a competent public accountant, or a competent firm of public accountants.
The independent auditor shall be appointed annually by resolution at least 30 days prior to the close of the fiscal year to make an independent examination of all accounts and accounting records of the Township for the fiscal year then closing.
The independent auditor shall have and possess all of the power and perform the duties provided in the First Class Township Code, as amended, for elected auditors. The compensation for any such appointed auditor shall be fixed by the Board of Commissioners.
Upon appointment of the independent auditor, as herein provided, the office of Elected Auditor is hereby abolished.
