The Town Tax Collecting Officer may charge and collect a fee
of $5 for the issuance of a duplicate tax bill. Any fees collected
pursuant to this article shall be the property of the Town and shall
be remitted to the Town by the Town Tax Collecting Officer on a monthly
basis.
No fee shall be charged for the issuance of the following duplicate
tax bills:
A.Â
A duplicate tax bill mailed to a new owner when, prior to the expiration
of the collection warrant, the Town Tax Collecting Officer receives
notice of a transfer of title to the property to that new owner occurring
after the taxable status date; and
B.Â
A duplicate tax bill mailed to a third party when properly requested
by an elderly or disabled person pursuant to Real Property Tax Law
§ 922, Subdivision 1-a.
