A municipal court for the Township of Ocean, in the County of Ocean, shall be established pursuant to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 2B:12-1 et seq. The name of the Municipal Court shall be the "Municipal Court of the Township of Ocean, in the County of Ocean." The Municipal Court shall have a seal which shall bear the name of the Court.
There shall be a Municipal Judge of the Municipal Court who shall be appointed by the Township Committee and who shall serve for a term of three years from the date of his/her appointment and until his/her successor is appointed and qualified.

The fee to be charged to persons applying for representation by the Municipal Public Defender shall be set at a rate of $200; however, the Municipal Court Judge may waive any required application fee, in whole or in part, if the Court determines, in its discretion, that the application fee represents an unreasonable burden on a person seeking such representation.
There shall be a Clerk of the Municipal Court who shall be appointed by the Township Committee. The Clerk shall serve for a term of three years from the date of his/her appointment and until his/her successor is appointed and qualifies. The Clerk shall perform such functions and duties as shall be prescribed for the Clerk by law, rule applicable to Municipal Courts, and by the Municipal Judge.
The court shall be held at such time and place as may be prescribed. The Judge shall sit from 10:00 a.m. until the calendar is completed and at such times as the business of the court shall require, subject to the rules applicable to municipal courts.

The Municipal Court Clerk's hours will be from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
