[Adopted by Ord. No. 1979-13 (§ 5-9C of the 1972 Ocean Codified Ordinances)]
The cost of maintaining and securing the public docks within
the Township has greatly increased; and it is the considered opinion
of the Mayor and the Township Committee that the cost of maintaining
such public dock in a clean, healthy and safe manner should be borne
by those desiring to use the public dock.
The public dock presently located in the Township is declared
to be a paid public dock.
No person over the age of six years shall use the facilities
or privileges of the Township public dock without first having acquired
and then having in his or her possession a proper and effective badge
or license to use such public dock.
In order to provide the necessary funds to maintain and secure
and police the public dock, the following fees shall be charged for
the facility:
For the purposes of this article, the public dock season shall
be defined as being from May 1 to October 31, inclusive.
A.
There
is created the position of Badge Issuing Officer for the public dock
of the Township.
B.
The Township Committee shall appoint a Badge Issuing Officer for
each public dock season.
C.
The Badge Issuing Officer shall not be paid any compensation.
D.
The Badge Issuing Officer shall be required to post a bond in the
amount of $500 as the officer shall be required to handle fees to
be paid to the Township for public dock badges.
