It shall be unlawful to tack or place any sign, bill, poster or advertisement of any nature on any pole, tree or other plant or structure on any street, alley or other public place in any manner without having a permit therefor. Applications for such permits shall be made to the Township Manager. No such sign, poster, bill or advertisement shall be permitted to remain in such public place for a period of longer than 30 days; and any such advertisement, sign, bill or poster giving notice of an event or referring to an election will be removed within 10 days after taking place of that event or election.
No such permit shall be issued unless there is deposited with the Township Manager the sum of $25, which sum shall be returned to the applicant if the applicant causes all such signs, bills, posters or advertisements to be removed within the time prescribed by this chapter. If such applicant does not cause the removal of such signs, bills, posters or advertisements within such time, then his twenty-five-dollar deposit shall be forfeited to the Township.
The provisions of this chapter shall not apply to notices posted by order of court or notices to the public required by law to be posted in a public place.

Any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be punishable for each offense by a fine of not more than $300 and costs of prosecution or, upon default in payment of the fine and costs, by imprisonment in the Montgomery County Prison for not more than 30 days, and each day that a violation continues shall constitute a separate offense.
The Zoning Officer, the Township Manager and the Police Chief are each herewith given the power and authority to enforce the provisions of this chapter.
