The Board of Fire Commissioners of the Village of Farmingdale
shall consist of five members, to be appointed and hold office in
accordance with the provisions of this chapter.[1]
Upon the expiration of a current appointees' term, the Board
of Trustees shall appoint successor Fire Commissioners for a term
of five years. The Board of Trustees shall, at each annual meeting,
designate one of the Fire Commissioners to serve as Chairperson of
the Board of Fire Commissioners for a one-year term. The term of office
of the Chairperson shall be limited to one year, notwithstanding that
the Commissioner's term or time remaining is for a period of more
than one year, unless during such Commissioner's term the Board of
Trustees at a subsequent annual meeting designates such Commissioner
to serve as Chairperson for an additional one-year term.
