Any full-time employee of the Town of Ghent who serves as a
juror in any County, State or Federal Court proceeding shall be paid
the amount of wages said employee normally receives for each day said
employee serves as a juror, and shall not be charged with a sick day,
personal day or vacation day.
Any such full-time employee in order to receive normal wages
for said time served as a juror, shall obtain written verification
from the appropriate Court Official confirming that said Town of Ghent
employee has in fact served as a juror on the specific dates as set
forth therein, and such employee shall thereafter file this written
confirmation of such service with the Ghent Town Clerk.
This compensation being paid to any such full-time employee
who serves as a juror shall fully satisfy all requirements for payments
required to be made to said juror pursuant to the provisions of Article
16 of the Judiciary Law of the State of New York and, particularly,
but without limitations, § 519 of the New York State Judiciary
Law, to the effect that the payment of normal wages made by the Town
of Ghent to said employee serving as a juror includes all such payments
required to be paid pursuant to the provisions of Judiciary Law Article
16.
