Pursuant to Section 11 of the Uniform Fire Safety
Act (P.L. 1983, c. 383),[1] the New Jersey Uniform Fire Code shall be locally enforced
in the Town of Dover, Morris County, New Jersey.

The local enforcing agency shall be the Bureau
of Fire Prevention in the Fire Department of the Town of Dover.
The local enforcing agency shall enforce the
Uniform Fire Safety Act[1] and the codes and regulations adopted under it in all
buildings, structures and premises within the established boundaries
of the Town of Dover, other than owner-occupied one- and two-family
dwellings, and shall faithfully comply with the requirements of the
Uniform Fire Safety Act and the Uniform Fire Code.

The local enforcing agency established by § 189-4 of this article shall carry out the periodic inspections of the life hazard uses required by the Uniform Fire Code on behalf of the Commissioner of Community Affairs.

A.
The local enforcing agency established by § 189-4 of this article. which is a part of the Fire Department of the Town of Dover, shall be under the direction, supervision and control of the Fire Official of the Town of Dover.
B.
The Fire Official shall be under the direct supervision
and control of the Chief of the Fire Department of the Town of Dover.

A.
The Fire Official shall be subject to civil service
laws contained in Title 11 of the Revised Statutes of the State of
New Jersey and the regulations adopted thereto.
B.
The Fire Official shall report to the Chief of the
Fire Department of the Town of Dover.
C.
Removal from office. The Fire Official may be removed
from office pursuant to requirements of Title 11 of the Revised Statutes
of the State of New Jersey and regulations adopted pursuant thereto.
Pursuant to Sections 15 and 17 of the Uniform
Fire Safety Act,[1] any person aggrieved by any order of the local enforcing
agency shall have the right to appeal to the Construction Board of
Appeals of Morris County.
