[HISTORY: Adopted by the Town of Putnam 8-7-1958 STM. Amendments noted where applicable.]
The area within the boundary limits of the Town of Putnam, bounded on the west side by the Quinebaug River, and the City of Putnam, on the north side by the Town of Thompson, on the east side by the State of Rhode Island, and on the south by the Town of Killingly, shall be organized as a Fire District for the purpose of preventing and extinguishing fires.

A district is formed for the following services: fire, municipal garbage disposal, police, water and sewer, and streetlights.
