[HISTORY: Adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Walden 8-10-2010 by L.L. No. 5-2010. Amendments noted where applicable.]
The Board of Trustees has determined that it is in the best interests of the overall health of the residents of the Village of Walden to reintroduce fluoride compounds into the Village's public water supply. By doing so, the Board acknowledges the beneficial aspects of fluoridated water on the dental health of children and recognizes the more than 50 years of positive health impacts fluoridated water had on its residents prior to its discontinuance earlier this year.
The Board of Trustees hereby authorizes the introduction of fluoride compounds into the Village of Walden's public water supply pursuant to § 1100-a of the Public Health Law of the State of New York and in compliance with all applicable rules and regulations of the New York State Health Department. Introduction of such fluoride compounds shall commence upon the effective date of this chapter.
