Whenever any words and phrases are used in this Article, the meaning respectively ascribed to them in Subtitle 1 of Title 39 of the Revised Statutes of New Jersey shall be deemed to apply to such words and phrases used herein.
The provisions of this article imposing a time limit on parking shall not relieve any person of the duty to observe other and more restrictive provisions prohibiting or limiting the stopping, standing or parking of vehicles as set forth in N.J.S.A. 39:4-138, any other New Jersey statute or as hereinafter provided.

No person shall park a vehicle at any time upon any of the streets or parts thereof described in Schedules I (§ 250-24) and II (§ 250-24.1), attached hereto and made a part hereof by this reference, unless the vehicle has attached thereto a special identification issued by the Director of Motor Vehicles indicating that the vehicle is for a handicapped person.[1]

No person shall park a vehicle between the hours specified in Schedule II of any day upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in said Schedule II (§ 250-25), attached to and made a part of this article.
No person shall stop or stand a vehicle at any time of any day upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in said Schedule III (§ 250-26), attached to and made a part of this Article.
No person shall park a vehicle for longer than the time limit shown in Schedule IV at any time between the hours of any day listed in said Schedule IV upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in Schedule IV (§ 250-27), attached to and made a part of this Article.
Trucks over four tons' gross weight are hereby excluded from the streets or parts of streets described in Schedule V except for the pickup and delivery of materials on such streets, said Schedule V (§ 250-28) being attached to and made a part of this Article.
A. 
Parking of all trucks over four tons' gross weight is hereby prohibited between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. on any street.
B. 
No person shall park any bus designed to carry more than 14 passengers on any alley, street, roadway, highway or on any property in a residentially zoned area within the City of Somers Point between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

The streets or parts of streets described in Schedule VI (§ 250-30), attached to and made a part of this Article, are hereby designated as one-way streets in the direction indicated.
Pursuant to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 39:4-140, the streets or parts of streets described in Schedule VII (§ 250-31), attached to and made a part of this Article, are hereby designated as through streets. Stop signs shall be installed on the near right side of each street intersecting the through street except where yield signs are provided for in the designations.
Pursuant to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 39:4-140, the intersections described in Schedule VIII (§ 250-32), attached to and made a part of this Article, are hereby designated as stop intersections. Stop signs shall be installed as provided therein.
Pursuant to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 39:4-140, the intersections described in Schedule IX (§ 250-33), attached to and made a part of this Article, are hereby designated as yield intersections. Yield signs shall be installed as provided therein.
The locations described in Schedule X (§ 250-34), attached to and made a part of this Article, are hereby designated as loading zones.
The locations described in Schedule XI (§ 250-35), attached to and made a part of this Article, are hereby designated as taxi stands.
The locations described in Schedule XII (§ 250-36), attached to and made a part of this Article, are hereby designated as bus stops.
No person shall make a left turn at any of the locations described in Schedule XIII (§ 250-37), attached to and made a part of this Article.
No persons shall make a U-turn at any of the locations described in Schedule XIV (§ 250-38), attached to and made a part of this Article.
No person shall make a turn at any of the locations described in Schedule XV (§ 250-39), attached to and made a part of this Article.
The lane locations described in Schedule XVI (§ 250-40), attached to and made a part of this Article, are designated as lane use reservations, and traffic shall move only as indicated.

No-passing zones are hereby established and shall be maintained along those streets or parts of streets described in Schedule XVII (§ 250-40.1), attached to and made a part of this chapter, as authorized by the New Jersey Department of Transportation.

Restricted speed zones are hereby established and shall be maintained along those streets or parts of streets described in Schedule XVIII (§ 250-40.2), attached hereto and made a part of this chapter.

Unless another penalty is expressly provided by New Jersey statute, every person convicted of a violation of a provision of this article or any supplement thereto shall be liable to a penalty of not more than $51 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding 15 days, or both.
If any part or parts of this article are for any reason held to be invalid, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this article.
All former traffic ordinances of the City of Somers Point are hereby repealed, and all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with or inconsistent with the provisions of this article are hereby repealed, except that this repeal shall not affect or prevent the prosecution or punishment of any person for any act done or committed in violation of any ordinance hereby repealed prior to the taking effect of this article.
This article may be known and cited as the "Traffic Ordinance."

Upon the declaration of an emergency, there shall be no parking upon streets or sections of streets where temporary emergency no-parking signs are displayed. The Chief of Police, or in his absence the ranking officer, is authorized to declare an emergency and to direct the posting of emergency no-parking signs when weather conditions, accidents, fires or public celebrations dictate or require the avoidance of hazards or other conditions which interfere with the free flow of traffic. Notification that the emergency no-parking signs are being or will be posted shall be given to the operator or owner of any vehicle which has been parked prior to the posting of the signs.
Any unoccupied vehicle parked or standing in violation of this Article shall be deemed a nuisance and a menace to the safe and proper regulation of traffic, and any police officer may provide for the removal of such vehicle.
The effectiveness of this article is contingent on signs being erected as provided by law.

A. 
No boat or trailer of combined length exceeding 22 feet in length shall be permitted to be parked upon any street, alley or right-of-way at any time within the City of Somers Point.
B. 
Trailers and boats and trailers of a combined length of 22 feet or less in length may be parked upon any street, alley or public right-of-way, provided that it does not remain there overnight for two consecutive evenings.
C. 
The operator or person in possession of the trailer or boat and trailer shall be responsible for any violation of this section. The owner of any trailer or boat and trailer shall be liable if the operator or person in possession thereof is operating it with the consent or permission of the owner.
D. 
Every person convicted of a violation of this section shall be liable for a penalty not to exceed $500 for the first day and $200 for every day thereafter or imprisonment not to exceed 90 days, or both.

A. 
Any movement or relocation of a structure requiring use of streets located within the City of Somers Point shall be required to have an approved schedule and route as evidenced in a written permit issued by the City Clerk's office.
B. 
Upon application for such a permit, the applicant shall file a moving plan and schedule. Said plan shall be reviewed by the City Engineer for routing and by the Chief of Police for traffic schedules and routing. The plan shall be submitted at least five working days prior to the actual move. In no case shall any structure be moved on Saturdays, Sundays or holidays, except in case of emergency.
C. 
The fee for said permit shall be $150 for a one- or two-family dwelling and $200 for a three- or larger family dwelling, payable at the time of application.
D. 
Every person convicted of a violation of this section shall be liable for a penalty not to exceed $500 per day or imprisonment not to exceed 90 days, or both.
