From and after the passage of this ordinance it shall be unlawful
to erect or build any step or steps, porch, portico, veranda, piazza
or plant any trees or other like form of encroachment on any of the
sidewalks, streets, pavements, or highways within the Borough of Mifflinburg,
Pennsylvania, nor shall it be lawful to rebuild, alter, change or
enlarge any existing steps, porches, porticos, veranda or piazzas,
either upward or lengthwise along the property.
For any violations of this ordinance the offending party shall
be subject to a penalty of $50, and the encroachment removed at the
cost of the owner of the property after a five day notice to remove
same, together with 10% added thereto.[1]

From and after the passage of this ordinance any person or persons,
owner or owners, tenant or tenants, occupier or occupiers, of any
dwelling house, hotel, store, shop, office or other premises whatsoever
shall be prohibited and under no circumstances allowed to build, erect,
or construct any overhead spouting which shall extend over the pavement
or sidewalks.[1]

Any such overhead spouting[1] now in use which extends over the pavement or sidewalk
shall be removed or disposed of as a nuisance and a danger to the
general public.

From and after the passage of this ordinance if any person or
persons, owner or owners, tenant or tenants, occupier or occupiers,
shall build or erect such overhead spouting or shall fail to remove
those already constructed or in use, thereby constituting a nuisance
and a danger to the general public passing along said pavement or
sidewalk, the person or persons, owner or owners, tenant or tenants,
occupier or occupiers, so offending shall, upon conviction thereof,
be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than $50 and costs of prosecution,
and be required within 10 days to remove the same at the expense of
the owner.
