A.
This Legislature hereby finds and determines that the Suffolk County
Community College Board of Trustees should have the ability to regulate
actions taking place on its campuses in order to prevent unauthorized
persons from entering thereon which could cause security problems
which may result in injury to students and property at the College.
B.
Therefore, the purpose of this chapter is to establish rules and
regulations with regard to the use of Suffolk County Community College
facilities in order to ensure the safety and well-being of its students
and personnel.
The erection of any structure, the staging of any performance,
the conducting of any athletic event or the holding of any meeting
at a facility maintained by the Suffolk County Community College on
any of its campuses shall not take place unless provided for in a
duly executed contract, license, or permit, upon such terms and conditions
as the appropriate designated College officials responsible for such
facility may deem necessary, subject to the approval of the College
Board of Trustees.
No person shall exhibit, sell, or offer for sale or hire any
object, merchandise, or service at a facility maintained by the Suffolk
County Community College on any of its campuses except as provided
in a duly executed contract, license, or permit, upon such terms and
conditions as the appropriate designated College officials responsible
for such facility may deem necessary, subject to the approval of the
College Board of Trustees.
All litter or garbage shall be placed in the receptacles provided
therefor.
No person shall injure, deface, alter, remove, or destroy any
property or equipment at a facility maintained by the Suffolk County
Community College.
A.
No person shall distribute, display, or post, or cause to be distributed,
displayed, or posted, any sign, banner, poster, or advertisement of
a commercial nature except as authorized by the Suffolk County Community
College Board of Trustees, or unless distributed, displayed, or posted
at such locations designated for such purpose.
B.
The costs connected with the removal of any unauthorized sign, banner,
poster, or advertisement shall be charged to and payable by the sponsor
of same.
Any person who intentionally violates any provision of this
chapter shall be guilty of an unclassified misdemeanor, punishable
by a fine of $1,000 and/or up to one year of imprisonment. Each such
violation shall constitute a separate and distinct offense.
This chapter shall apply to all actions occurring on or after
the effective date of this chapter.
