Effective immediately, any sums received by the County Clerk in addition to any prescribed fee or charge shall be deposited in the general fund of the County with the fee or charge. The acknowledgment to the person making the payment shall indicate the receipt of the amount of the prescribed fee or charge and the overpayment, noting next to the sums the designation "APPR," indicating an appropriation to the County.
Any sum less than $30 received over and above the prescribed fee or charge may be accepted and retained, but any overpayment in excess of $30 shall be returned without delay to the person making the payment.
