The County of Suffolk is hereby establishing an application fee waiver policy for eligible candidates who are unemployed and primarily responsible for the support of a household and/or recipients of either Medicaid, Temporary Assistance to Needy Families, or food stamps.
A. 
Such fees shall be waived for candidates who certify to the Suffolk County Department of Human Resources, Personnel and Civil Service that they are unemployed (as defined in § 50, Subdivision 5b, of New York State Civil Service Law) and primarily responsible for the support of a household and/or recipients of either Medicaid, Temporary Assistance to Needy Families, or food stamps.
B. 
Upon a candidate's approval of eligibility for an application fee waiver, that candidate shall receive a full waiver of his/her civil service application fee.
C. 
Every Suffolk County Civil Service examination announcement with an application fee shall have information printed on the announcement informing potential applicants of the fee waiver policy.
D. 
Pursuant to § C6-2 of the Suffolk County Charter, the Personnel Officer, as Director of the Department of Human Resources, Personnel and Civil Service, is hereby authorized, empowered, and directed to issue such regulations as he deems necessary to implement this section.

The County of Suffolk hereby establishes an application fee waiver policy for eligible candidates who are veterans, active duty members of the United States Armed Forces, current members of the Armed Forces Reserves or National Guard and who are residents of Suffolk County.
A. 
Such fees shall be waived for candidates who are veterans and who submit a DD Form 214, along with proof that said veteran is a Suffolk County resident, or, in the alternative, a Suffolk County veteran resident ID card.
B. 
Such fees shall be waived for candidates who are on active duty in one of the branches of the U.S. Armed Forces or current members of the Armed Forces Reserves or National Guard who submit a valid Department of Defense Identification Card, along with proof that said member is a Suffolk County resident.
C. 
Upon a candidate's approval of eligibility for an application fee waiver, that candidate shall receive a full waiver of his or her civil service application fee.
D. 
Every Suffolk County civil service examination announcement with an application fee shall have information printed on the announcement informing potential applicants of the fee waiver policy.
E. 
Pursuant to § C6-2 of the Suffolk County Charter, the Personnel Officer, as Director of the Department of Human Resources, Personnel and Civil Service, is hereby authorized, empowered and directed to issue such regulations as he deems necessary to implement this section.

A. 
The County of Suffolk hereby establishes an application fee waiver policy for eligible candidates who are members in good standing of their local fire district or ambulance company, and are residents of Suffolk County.

B. 
Such fees shall be waived for candidates who submit a valid volunteer firefighter or EMT identification card or a letter from the chief of the fire department or ambulance company which the candidate is affiliated with, affirming that said candidate is a volunteer and a member in good standing in his or her organization.

C. 
The candidates must also submit proof of their residence in Suffolk County to obtain the fee waiver.
D. 
Every Suffolk County Civil Service Examination announcement with an application fee shall have information printed on the announcement informing potential applicants of the fee waiver policy.
E. 
Pursuant to § C6-2 of the Suffolk County Charter, the Personnel Officer, as Director of the Department of Human Resources, Personnel and Civil Service, is hereby authorized, empowered and directed to issue such regulations as he deems necessary to implement this resolution.

(1) 
Are active members of the Suffolk County Police Department Explorers program;
(2) 
Have been members of the Explorers program for a minimum of two years at the time of seeking the fee waiver; and
(3) 
Submit a letter from their Explorers post advisor confirming the applicant's satisfactory participation and service with their examination application.
B. 
Fees shall be waived for candidates who meet the above requirements while they remain active members in the Explorers program.
C. 
Upon a candidate's approval of eligibility for an application fee waiver, that candidate shall receive a full waiver of his/her civil service application fee.
D. 
Every Suffolk County Civil Service examination announcement for a position with an application fee shall have information printed informing potential applicants of this fee waiver policy.
E.

Fees shall be waived for candidates who meet the above requirements while they remain active members in the Explorers program.

Have been members of the Explorers program for a minimum of two years at the time of seeking the fee waiver; and
(3) 
Submit a letter from their Explorers post advisor confirming the applicant's satisfactory participation and service with their examination application.
B. 
Fees shall be waived for candidates who meet the above requirements while they remain active members in the respective Explorers program they participate in.
C. 
Upon a candidate's approval of eligibility for an application fee waiver, that candidate shall receive a full waiver of their civil service application fee.
D. 
Every Suffolk County Civil Service examination announcement for a position with an application fee shall have information printed informing potential applicants of this fee waiver policy.
E.
