The use of tobacco products is prohibited in any City recreation area or facility.
Signs shall be installed and maintained to alert the public of the prohibition against the use of tobacco in the City's recreation areas and facilities. Such signs shall state as follows: "No Smoking or Use of Other Tobacco Products In This City Recreation Area" and shall be placed prominently at every entrance to all City recreation areas and facilities.
Any person who violates the provisions of this chapter shall be subject to a civil penalty in the amount of $50 for the first offense, $100 for the second offense, and $200 for the third offense. In addition, violators may be removed from the recreation area or facility. In additional to these penalties, persons under 18 years of age shall be subject to the provisions of New Hampshire Revised Statutes Annotated 126-K.
The Laconia Police Department is authorized to enforce the provisions of this chapter.
