The City may install traffic control signals exhibiting different colored lights or colored lighted arrows, successively, one at a time or in combination; only the colors green, red and yellow shall be used, except for special pedestrian signals carrying a word legend; and said lights shall apply to operators of vehicles and pedestrians as outlined in RSA 265:10 through 265:17, as amended.
No person shall drive a vehicle on a street at a speed in excess of the posted limit by a lawfully installed traffic control device, and such speed shall hereinafter be prima facie evidence that the speed is not reasonable and is unlawful.
No person shall drive a vehicle at a speed in excess of that indicated by a lawfully installed traffic control device, limiting the posted school zone, at a speed of 10 miles per hour below the usual posted limit from 45 minutes prior to school opening and from the school closing until 45 minutes after the school closing.
The City may limit the direction motor vehicles shall travel on a particular street or parts of streets as indicated by a lawfully installed traffic control device, and these streets are hereby designated as one-way streets in the direction indicated by the traffic control device.
The City may limit motor vehicles from making a turn, at any of the intersections in the City, provided that the turn is prohibited by a lawfully installed traffic control device.
Right turn on red signals is permitted by state statute, unless a lawfully installed traffic control device specifically prohibits such turn. Therefore, no operator shall make a right turn when facing a steady red signal where such a turn is specifically prohibited.
No person shall continue, so as not to stop, at any location, where a lawfully installed traffic control device directs all vehicles to stop, and these intersections shall be hereinafter described as stop intersections. Stop signs shall be installed as provided therein.
No person shall continue, so as not to yield, at any location, where a lawfully installed traffic control device directs all vehicles to yield to on-coming traffic, and these intersections shall be hereinafter described as yield intersections. Yield signs shall be installed as provided therein.
A. 
It shall be unlawful for any person to drive any bus, combination vehicle, commercial motor vehicle, heavy truck, motor truck, semitrailer, tractor-trailer or any other similar vehicle, except a passenger vehicle and any passenger vehicles drawing a trailer or towing any other vehicle, through or upon, except for local deliveries, any street or parts thereof where the weight of such traffic to pass through or upon such streets has been prohibited by a lawfully installed traffic control device.
B. 
During the spring thaw period, the load limit on City streets shall not exceed 20,000 pounds (10 tons) gross vehicle weight rated. Such load limit shall be posted by the Department of Public Works as required by this section. Exceptions to this limit may be authorized in writing by the City Manager, Director of Public Works or the Assistant Director of Public Works upon receipt of written request. Officials authorized to grant written permission may impose reasonable conditions and may establish reasonable regulations for bonding and restoring the highway.

Except in crosswalks where traffic control devices signal "Walk" and "Don't Walk," pedestrians shall always have the right-of-way over all vehicles. At crosswalks with traffic control devices, pedestrians shall have the right-of-way during the "Walk" phase only and shall not have the right-of-way during the "Don't Walk" phase.

B. 
Except for duly authorized emergency vehicles or in compliance with the directions of a police officer, no motor vehicle shall be permitted on Locust Street from a point 100 feet east of Union Avenue to Jameson Street.
C. 
No access or egress shall be permitted onto Lafayette Street from the Lakes Business Park. Lafayette Street shall remain a dead-end street.

No operator of a motor vehicle shall make a U-turn on any of the streets or parts of streets within the City of Laconia.
No person shall steal a ride on any vehicle. No person shall ride upon any part of a vehicle not designated or intended for the use of passengers. This provision shall not apply to an employee engaged in the necessary discharge of a duty nor to persons riding within truck bodies in space intended for merchandise.
The driver of any vehicle, other than one on official business related to a fire call, shall not follow any fire apparatus traveling in response to a fire alarm closer than 500 feet or drive within or park such vehicles within 500 feet of where fire apparatus has stopped in answer to a fire alarm.
It shall be unlawful for the direction officer or the operator of any railroad train to direct the operation of or to operate the same in such manner as to prevent the use of any street for purposes of travel for a period of time longer than five minutes, except that this provision shall not apply to trains or cars in motion other than those engaged in switching. The five-minute interval may be lessened by the lawful direction of a police officer to accommodate emergency vehicles.
