The Records Retention and Disposal Schedule CO-2, issued pursuant to Article 57-A of the New York Arts and Cultural Affairs Law and containing legal minimum retention periods for County government records, is hereby adopted for use by all Suffolk County offices in disposing of County government records listed therein, where applicable.
In accordance with Article 57-A of the New York Arts and Cultural Affairs Law, only those records shall be disposed of by Suffolk County that are described in Records Retention and Disposition Schedule CO-2 after such records have met the minimum retention period prescribed therein; and only those records shall be disposed of that do not have sufficient administrative, fiscal, legal or historical value to merit retention beyond the established time periods.
