No person shall conduct or maintain a public dance hall, nor
shall dancing be taught or permitted in such dance hall, until a license
has been granted by the City Clerk.

(a) An application for a license to conduct or maintain a dance hall
shall be made to the City Clerk at least 15 days before any dance
is to be held in such hall.
(b) Applications for dance hall licenses shall contain the following:
(1) The name of the owner or person in control of the building.
(2) The location of the dance hall.
(3) A plan of the dance hall giving in detail the dimensions and a diagram
of the space to be used for dancing, dressing rooms, cloakrooms, toilet
rooms, entrances, exits, stairways and fire escapes.

Before a license to conduct or maintain a public dance hall
is granted, the Building Inspector, the Fire Chief and the Police
Chief shall inspect such dance hall and make a written report to the
City Clerk stating that the dance hall conforms to City ordinances
and regulations.

The holder of a dance hall license shall, at all times, keep
such dance hall in a clean, healthful and sanitary condition and have
the stairways and other passages in all rooms and places connecting
with such dance hall at all times open and well lighted.

Every dance hall shall be well ventilated and supplied with
separate dressing rooms for men and women and shall be a safe and
suitable place for the purpose for which it is to be used.
