A.
The purpose of this chapter is to:
(1)
Promote
the health, safety, morals and general welfare;
(2)
Safeguard
the best interests of the public, the homeowner, and the subdivider;
(3)
Encourage
well-planned subdivisions by establishment of minimum standards for
design and construction;
(4)
Integrate
all new subdivisions into the general plans for the City of New Lisbon,
Wisconsin, thereby contributing toward an attractive, orderly, stable,
well-planned community environment with adequate municipal services
and proper provision for streets;
(5)
Lessen
congestion in streets and highways;
(6)
Secure
safety from fire, panic and other dangers;
(7)
Provide
adequate light and air;
(8)
Prevent
overcrowding of land and avoid concentration of population;
(9)
Facilitate
adequate provision for transportation, water, sewerage, schools, parks,
playgrounds, and other public requirements; and
(10)
Facilitate
the further resubdivision of larger tracts into smaller parcels of
land.
B.
For said purposes this chapter shall regulate and control the subdivision
of land within the corporate limits of the City of New Lisbon, Wisconsin.
C.
It is not intended by this chapter to repeal, abrogate, annul, impair
or interfere with any existing rules, regulations or permits previously
adopted or issued pursuant to law; provided, however, that where this
chapter imposes a greater restriction upon the subdivision and development
of land than is required by other rules, regulations or permits, the
provisions of this chapter shall govern.
D.
The provisions of this chapter shall be held to be the minimum requirements
adopted to promote the health, safety, morals, comfort, prosperity,
development and general welfare of the City.
E.
This chapter is adopted for the purpose of promoting orderly development
and improvement of the City by regulating and controlling the subdivision
of land within the corporate limits of the City of New Lisbon, Wisconsin.
This chapter shall be known as the "City of New Lisbon Subdivision
Control Ordinance" and shall become a part of the Code of the City
of New Lisbon, Wisconsin, and it shall be referred to herein as "this
chapter."
