79, School Crossing Guards, adopted 11-16-2009 by Ord. No. 392-09.
The Board of Supervisors of Easttown Township, Chester County,
Pennsylvania, hereby approves the request of the Tredyffrin/Easttown
School District ("school district") to permit the school district
to assume the hiring and overseeing of school crossing guards at the
school district's facilities and functions.
The school district shall assume full and complete responsibility
for the cost of compensation, and any other related costs, of the
school crossing guards. An agreement regarding any and all past cost
allocations between the Township and school district as to crossing
guards shall be by and through a memorandum of understanding or other
agreement approved by the respective parties. All prior ordinances,
resolutions or agreements as to cost of school crossing guards inconsistent
with this chapter are hereby superseded by this chapter.
The school district shall consult with the Easttown Township
Police Department as to crossing locations and functions of school
crossing guards. The Easttown Township Police Department and the school
district shall jointly provide for an efficient and prompt method
by which school crossing guards may request any necessary assistance
from police and other emergency personnel if the need arises.
