A. 
When a building within the Township of Clark is protected by an automatic fire-suppression system, a standpipe system, or an automatic alarm system, an exterior horn/strobe shall be installed by the owner at a location approved by the Township of Clark Fire Official/Fire Marshal/Fire Code Official.
B. 
Any apartment building or other rental building containing four or more residential living units shall also be required to install the approved horn/strobe.
The term "building" used herein means any building or structure located in the Township of Clark, whether privately or publicly owned, including, without limitation, any building owned by the Township of Clark, the Clark Board of Education or any other public, quasi-public, or private entity or person; provided, however, that this article shall not apply to owner-occupied one- and two-family dwellings.
All existing buildings shall comply with this article within six months of the effective date of this article. All newly constructed buildings not yet occupied or buildings currently under construction and all buildings or businesses applying for a certificate of occupancy shall comply immediately.
Any violation of any of the provisions of this article or of any codes adopted or enforced hereby shall be punished in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 1, Article III, General Penalty, of the Code of the Township of Clark, unless another penalty is specifically set forth in this article by state law or in such Code.
