Building permit fees.
(1) 
Minimum building permit fee: $50.
(2) 
New single-family, two-family: $0.70 per square foot.

Residential alterations, repairs: $0.60 per square foot.

Kitchens and bathrooms: $0.80 per square foot.
(3) 
Multifamily: $0.70 per square foot.

New commercial and industrial:

A reinspection fee of $75 may be charged for any inspection called for but not ready.

All fees are to be structured at a minimum of 1% over $10,000.

On exceptionally large or complicated multifamily, commercial or industrial projects, plan review fees may be required.

A processing fee of $150 will be administered to all paper applications.

A. 
Any person engaged in the construction of a building, or installation of a sign or elevator, for the City of Gardner shall be exempt from the requirement to pay a building permit fee.
B. 
The Building Commissioner shall not charge a certificate of inspection fee to churches, schools and the City of Gardner.
