Taxi fares that shall be charged by the owners or drivers of taxicabs within the Township limits shall not exceed the rates prescribed by this section There are hereby established taxi fare zones in the Township in accordance with the Taxi Fare Zone Map, which is incorporated herein by reference without the same being set forth. Copies of the Taxi Fare Zone Map have been placed on file in the office of the Township Clerk. Taxi fare rates shall be as follows:
A. 
Regulations.
(1) 
From a point in a lesser zone to a point in a higher zone, the fare shall be that chargeable for the higher zone.
(2) 
From a point in a higher zone to a point in a lesser zone, the fare shall be that chargeable for the higher zone.
(3) 
Where the beginning point or destination falls on the street comprising the boundary line of a zone, the rate for the lesser zone shall apply.
B. 
Taxi fares. The fare zones established by this section shall be designated Zones A through I. The maximum charges for each zone shall be as follows:

C. 
Maximum fare. The maximum fare to any point within the Township limits shall be $4.
D. 
Surcharge.
(1) 
Night charge. A surcharge of $0.50 between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. and all day Sunday shall be added to the fare.
(2) 
Hand baggage and shopping bags. There will be a charge of $1 for more than two pieces of luggage, regardless of the number. There shall be a charge of $0.50 for more than two shopping bags, regardless of the number.
(3) 
Trunks. There shall be a charge of $1.50 for each trunk handled by the driver.
(4) 
Additional passengers. For each additional passenger exceeding two to the same destination, there shall be a charge of $1, provided that the additional passenger is more than 12 years old. There shall be no charge for additional passengers for transportation services rendered in Zone A.
(5) 
Waiting time. There shall be a charge of $0.15 for each five minutes, or fraction thereof, exceeding five minutes of waiting time.
E. 
Maximum charges. No person shall charge a rate in excess of the above charges.
F. 
Discount. Holders of a valid Clark Township senior citizens ID card are entitled to a discount of $0.50 off the total charges if the total charges are $3 or more.
All disputes as to fare shall be determined by the officer in charge of the police station at the time of such dispute. It shall be unlawful for any person to refuse to pay the legal fare under this chapter.
