There is hereby established, under the provisions of MGL c.
40, § 8D, an Historical Commission of the City of Gardner
for the purposes and with the rights and duties provided by law, to
be composed of seven members appointed by the Mayor, subject to confirmation
by the City Council, for terms of three years, except that the initial
appointment shall be two members for one year, two members for two
years, and three members for three years. One member may be chosen
from one of the surrounding communities.
