The position(s) of Inspector of Gas Piping and Gas Appliances
is hereby created.
The Inspector of Gas Piping and Gas Appliances shall perform
such duties as may be required in enforcing the rules and regulations
established by authority of the Massachusetts Code for Installation
of Gas Appliances and Gas Piping, as presently in force, and as may
be amended and in force from time to time.
The Plumbing Inspector(s) of the City shall be the Inspector(s)
of Gas Piping and Gas Appliances. Said Plumbing Inspector(s) and Inspector(s)
of Gas Piping and Gas Appliances shall be subject to the authority
of the Mayor and the Building Commissioner.

The Plumbing Inspector(s) and Inspector(s) of Gas Piping and
Gas Appliances shall be appointed by the Mayor, subject to confirmation
by the City Council, and shall hold said position for a term of three
years from the date of confirmation by the City Council or until his
successor is duly appointed and qualified. The salary of the Inspector
shall be established in the ordinances designating salaries and wages
for the City employees.[1]
