All ordinances and resolutions of New Britain Borough that concern
or contain references to the "Police Department" or the "police" or
the "New Britain Borough Police Department" or implicate the enforcement
of the Crimes Code or other penal provisions of Borough ordinances
that do not fall within the purview of the Borough Code Enforcement
Officer shall be construed to refer to the "Central Bucks Regional
Police Commission" in all respects.
To the extent that any ordinance or resolution of the Borough
pertaining to police pension or benefit programs and pertaining to
police employees who may be entitled by law to receive benefits on
account of prior service to the New Britain Borough Police Department,
then such ordinances or resolutions shall not be affected by this chapter.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, nothing in this chapter is intended
to or shall be construed to create or change or enlarge or duplicate
any pension or benefit or right claimed under an ordinance or resolution
of New Britain Borough or the Regional Police Commission.
