With the consent of the Mayor, the Director of Municipal Licenses and Inspections shall appoint a Plumbing Inspector, who shall be a practical plumber and shall have had practical experience either as master or journeyman plumber. The Director of Municipal Licenses and Inspections may appoint a Plumbing Inspector who shall also be and serve as Inspector of Gas Piping and Gas Appliances, if so qualified.
A. 
The Plumbing Inspector shall be responsible for the enforcement of all rules and regulations regarding the installation, alteration and repair of all plumbing in the Town.
B. 
The Plumbing Inspector, or Plumbing Inspector serving as the Inspector of Gas Piping and Gas Appliances, shall inspect all plumbing or gas fitting, as the case may be, in the process of construction, alteration or repair for which permits are granted within the Town and shall report to the Director of Municipal Licenses and Inspections all violations of any law, ordinance, bylaw, rule or regulation relative to plumbing or gas fitting.[1]

C. 
The Plumbing Inspector or Inspector of Gas Piping and Gas Appliances shall not engage in or work at the business of plumbing or gas fitting; provided, however, that such an inspector may perform the work of a journeyman plumber or gas fitter outside the area over which he/she exercises jurisdiction as an inspector.[2]
