The Mayor shall appoint, subject to the review of the Town Council, three regular voting members and two associate members to the Zoning Board of Appeals. The Mayor shall strive to appoint a suitable mix of professional experience or educational background compatible with fulfilling the role of the Zoning Board of Appeals.
The term of office for members of the Zoning Board of Appeals shall be indefinite.
A. 
The Zoning Board of Appeals shall hear and decide petitions brought by persons seeking relief from the Town's Zoning Ordinances and from relevant provisions of MGL c. 40A.
B. 
The Zoning Board of Appeals shall hear and decide all applications for comprehensive permits, pursuant to MGL c. 40B.
C. 
The Zoning Board of Appeals shall act as the permit granting authority pursuant to the Town's Zoning Ordinances, and as a special permit granting authority, if the Zoning Ordinances so provide.
D. 
The Zoning Board of Appeals may adopt policies and procedures relative to the conduct of hearings and its administration of MGL c. 40B.
