GENERAL REFERENCES
Department of Public Works — See Ch. 2.220.
There shall be a Department of Public Works ("DPW") Advisory Board, consisting of at least five and no more than nine members, all of whom shall be appointed by the Mayor. The Mayor shall designate one member of the Board to serve as Chair. The Board shall elect from its members a Vice Chair and Clerk. All members of the Board shall serve without pay.
A. 
The Department of Public Works Advisory Board shall review the operations of the DPW and recommend policies and procedures relative to the Department of Public Works for adoption by the DPW Director.
B. 
The DPW Advisory Board shall make recommendations to the DPW Director concerning the long-term public works needs of the Town.
C. 
The DPW Advisory Board shall conduct hearings and decide requests for abatement of the Town's trash fee and water and sewer bills.
D. 
The DPW Advisory Board shall be responsible for holding hearings and deciding violations in accordance with the Town's ordinances regarding water emergencies and conservation of water.
E. 
The DPW Advisory Board shall be responsible for granting or revoking, after a hearing, the following permits and licenses:
(1) 
Any permits required for new construction seeking to add flow of more than 440 gallons per day to the Town's sewer system;
(2) 
Revocation, after notice and an opportunity for a hearing, of a contractor's license to work on water and sewer systems in the Town; and
(3) 
Any other permits and licenses pertinent to public works activities as delegated by the Mayor and not contrary to state law.
