The purpose of this article is to abolish the Office of the
Receiver of Taxes and Assessments in the Town of New Hartford, New
York and to transfer all powers and duties of that office to the Town
Clerk.
The Office of Receiver of Taxes and Assessments in the Town
of New Hartford, New York, is hereby abolished, effective December
31, 2011. The powers and duties of that office shall be transferred
to the Office of the Town Clerk of the Town of New Hartford, New York,
on the first day of January 2012.
This article is adopted subject to a mandatory referendum and
shall be submitted for approval of the qualified voters of the Town
of New Hartford, New York, at the general election to be held Tuesday,
November 8, 2011.[1]

This article is adopted pursuant to the provision of the Municipal
Home Rule Law and the Town Law of the State of New York.
This article shall take effect upon the affirmative vote of
a majority of the qualified electors voting therein at such election
on November 8, 2011, and the filing with the Office of the Secretary
of State in accordance with the applicable provisions of law, on December
31, 2011.
