No person shall move any building or other structure within the Township of Jackson without first making application to the following departments:
A. 
Municipal Clerk.
B. 
Jackson Police Department.
C. 
Building Department.

A. 
The transport fee for the removal or moving of a building or structure from one location within the Township of Jackson to a different location within the Township of Jackson shall be $100, payable to the Township of Jackson and submitted to the office of the Municipal Clerk.
B. 
The transport fee for the removal or moving of a building or structure from another municipality or territorial jurisdiction to within the limits of the Township of Jackson shall be $100, payable to the Township of Jackson and submitted to the office of the Municipal Clerk.
C. 
The transport fee for the removal or moving of a building or structure from a location outside the Township of Jackson to a location within the territorial limits of the Township of Jackson shall be $100, payable to the Township of Jackson and submitted to the office of the Municipal Clerk.
D. 
The fee for the moving of a building or structure on any road, highway or street in the Township of Jackson shall be in accordance with the rates set for extra duty assignments performed by the Jackson Township Police Department. Application is made directly to the Police Department for the assigned fee.
E. 
All required permits for the removal of an existing footing and foundation or the installation of a new system will require permits from the Building Department.
Whenever a building or structure has been removed from within the Township of Jackson, the owner of the property from which it has been removed shall, within 10 days thereafter, remove or cause to be removed any residue, such as foundations, slabs, pipes or other things protruding above the ground, and fill in any holes or depressions left and restore the property to its natural grade.

Any person securing authorization for the removal or moving of a building or structure over, upon or across a public street, road or highway in the Township of Jackson, in addition to the above-prescribed fees, shall file with the Clerk of the Township of Jackson a bond with good and sufficient sureties to the Township of Jackson as obligee, in the sum of $50,000, conditioned upon the proper removal of said building or structure without damage to the public streets, sidewalks, curbs or other public property, and saving the Township of Jackson and said public of said Township harmless from any and all damage that may be caused to any property or person by reason of the removal or moving of said building or structure, and agreeing to reimburse the Township of Jackson for any moneys expended by it or by its public for repairs or damages. No approval shall be issued until such bond shall be filed as aforesaid.

In addition, any application to remove or move a building or structure over, upon or across a public street within the Township of Jackson shall file a certificate of public liability insurance in the sum of $300,000.
No building, structure or dwelling shall be moved over, upon or across a public street in the Township of Jackson unless notice of intention to remove or move a building or structure over, upon or across a public street is given to the Jackson Township Police Department not less than 24 hours prior to the time of the said moving.
No bond shall be required for the moving of any building or structure from a location on one parcel to another location on the same parcel, provided that the public streets, roads or highways within the Township of Jackson are not used to accomplish said move.

Any person or persons, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, pay a penalty of not more than $500 or be imprisoned for a term not to exceed 90 days, or both.
